BUILDING LOCAL CAPACITY
TO POSITIVELY IMPACT
OUR COMMUNITIES.

Six local partners are collaborating with Heartland Alliance to implement READI Chicago in Austin, Englewood, North Lawndale, West Englewood, and West Garfield Park with a goal of promoting safety and economic opportunity over time. Relying on local expertise means that participants benefit from longstanding community-based organizations, while our partners benefit from Heartland Alliance’s established infrastructure and technical advising, to build local, lasting community capacity from within.

5
COMMUNITIES

READI Chicago targets five community areas that have been most impacted by decades of systemic oppression, disinvestment, and racist policies. These communities face high rates of violence, poverty, unemployment, and lack of opportunity.

READI envisions a different path forward. Across the city, we invest in people and infrastructure to help put families and communities on a path to recovery and opportunity.
