Every June, Heartland Alliance celebrates Pride, which acknowledges the headway made towards removing barriers for the LGBTQIA+ community while also inspiring action for more progress ahead. Our Alliance stands in solidarity with the LGBTQIA+ community and allies to demand equality and eliminate oppressions based on sexual orientation or identity.
In honor of Pride, we spoke with staff and participants about how their experiences within the LGBTQIA+ community have shaped their understanding of the world, and the ways in which Heartland Alliance is working in partnership with the LGBTQIA+ community to achieve equity and opportunity for all.
