Homelessness Awareness Week

Housing is fundamental. Without the safety and comfort of a place to call home, the barriers to achieving stability and economic wellbeing become increasingly significant. COVID-19 and ensuing economic crisis have only exacerbated housing instability – with people from vulnerable populations bearing the brunt of the impact.

For one such group, young people experiencing homelessness, these barriers are often compounded by the lack of a support system. That’s where our Young Adult Supportive Services (YASS) team comes in, dedicating their efforts to both tearing down barriers and providing critical support systems for young people in Chicago.
