Heartland Alliance Statement Regarding the Election

We’re Still Committed To Your Human Rights

For over a century, Heartland Alliance has been a leader, an advocate, and a service provider, advancing human rights and responding to the human needs of society’s most marginalized populations by providing comprehensive and respectful services and promoting permanent solutions that lead to a more just global society.

Now more than ever, we remain steadfast in our commitment to achieve equity and opportunity for all.  Today, over 43 million people in America live below the poverty line and millions more experience hardship and struggle every day to pay their rent, buy food, and keep the lights on. Across the world, more than 65 million individuals and families have been displaced from their homes due to persecution and violence.

We know we must change these realities in order for everyone in society to have an opportunity to achieve their hopes and dreams.  Since 1888, Heartland Alliance has directly served and advocated on behalf of the most marginalized and endangered populations, including low-income individuals and families, immigrants, refugees, and those who have been discriminated against on account of their age, race, gender/gender identity, sexual orientation, religion, nationality or ethnicity.

No one program or policy will eliminate poverty or injustice.  We know solutions must be multi-pronged and interconnected: housing improves health care, better health helps people work, job opportunity can stem community violence, and a just system allows individuals and communities to realize their full potential.

We are resolute in our commitment to work toward a more just global society.

We are ALL in – and invite you to be too.
