A Bold and Courageous Conversation at Heartland Alliance’s 2019 Annual dinner

On November 20, Heartland Alliance celebrated the bold and courageous actions we are taking to promote safety and justice, health and healing, and economic opportunity to create a future of equity and opportunity for all at our Annual Dinner.

A highlight of the evening was an inspiring conversation about the global migrant crisis with Heartland Alliance President Evelyn Diaz; Heartland Human Care Services’ Vanessa White; Br. Michael Gosch, founder and director of programs and housing at Viator House of Hospitality; and Human Rights Advisor Helena Olea of Alianza Americas. Our panelists brought expertise and experience regarding the global migrant crisis, the challenges facing immigrants who are seeking safety and opportunity here in the United States, and Heartland Alliance’s efforts to help them heal from trauma and lead prosperous lives here. Through candid conversation with one another and with the audience, our experts used their perspectives on this critical topic to help inform, inspire, and empower our guests to learn more about this complex issue.

Thanks to our generous sponsors and guests, together we raised critical funds to support the important work of Heartland Alliance. We are inspired by that support as we continue to provide services to and uphold the dignity of immigrants and refugees, and as we work together to ensure equity and opportunity for all.
