Homeless Prevention

Serves 100-400 households annually, depending on funding availability. Participants must be at risk of homelessness; eligible adults/families are provided one-time financial assistance to resolve the crisis and maintain housing stability (such as a rent payment, utility payment, etc.). They are also provided with one-time case management services and referred out to any other services needed. The purpose is to increase housing stability and prevent homelessness, which is often caused by an unexpected financial crisis (loss of job, medical emergency, etc.). Depending on the assistance given and the funding source, Homeless Prevention assistance is sometimes only available once per year or every two years.
