Award-winning rapper Rhymefest helps Heartland Alliance kick off bold new era at 76th Annual Candlelight Ball

CHICAGO—Heartland Alliance, a Chicago-based non-profit organization committed to reducing poverty, will partner with communities to break the barrier of violence standing in the way of equity and opportunity for many in Chicago and around the world. The news will be shared at Heartland Alliance’s annual The Candlelight Ball black-tie gala at The Palmer House (17 E. Monroe) on Saturday, November 5 from 6:30 P.M. until 11:00 P.M. Phil Rogers, of NBC 5 News, will MC and Grammy and Academy Award-winning rapper Che “Rhymefest” Smith will help to rally attendees united in a mission to provide safety, justice and healing to all.
Heartland Alliance has taken on the toughest issues – even during the most tumultuous of times – to stand for justice and to help people in greatest need. That fearless spirit continues today and has since its inception nearly 130 years ago.
Proceeds from The Candlelight Ball support the ongoing work of Heartland Alliance, one of the world’s leading anti-poverty organizations – serving the most disenfranchised – including the homeless, immigrants and refugees, those with HIV, survivors of torture and violence, and people living in extreme poverty.
